Child Safety Puppeteers Coordinator
Pay: $20.00/Hr.
Job Type: Flexible /Part-time
Hours: 10-20 Hours per week
Calendar: Based on the Academic School Year (August – June)
Child Advocates of Nevada County is seeking a coordinator for the Child Safety Puppeteers Program. Candidates will be highly motivated, organized, and passionate about the prevention of child abuse in Nevada County. A background in education or experience working with children is preferred. Position summary: The Child Safety Puppeteers Coordinator is responsible for the planning, oversight and
delivery of the Child Safety Puppeteers program. Coordinator will be expected to participate in agency meetings,
some fundraising events, and monthly community meetings. Coordinator provides transportation of high school
students to and from presentations. Coordinator transports stage and other materials for presentations.

Complete the online Mandated Child Abuse Reporting
Clean DMV, valid driver’s license, auto insurance and a reliable vehicle. (large vehicle preferable)

Home Visitor – Western Nevada County

Pay: $23.00/Hr.
Hours: 35 Hours Mon-Thurs (some Fridays on occasion)
Position: Home Visitor – Western Nevada County

Healthy Babies, a program under Child Advocates of Nevada County, seeks a part-time Home
Visitor for the Healthy Babies (HB) Program in the Nevada City and Grass Valley areas. Home
Visitors receive extensive training to offer assessments to parents for bonding with their baby,
pre/post-natal depression, growth development education, parenting curriculum, resources, and
ongoing support with their child.
Duties: Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Home Visitor conducts outreach and home
visits with assigned families in the Western Nevada County community. The Home Visitor will
help families identify strengths, develop a strong parent/child bond, connect with resources, and
set and meet goals.
$1,000 Bonus for bilingual in Spanish after completion of probation. Bilingual NOT required
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent • experience in working with or providing
services to children and families • an ability to establish trusting relationships • acceptance of
individual differences • experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families •
knowledge of infant and child development • willing to engage in building reflective capacity
(e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others,
recognizing the value of supervision, etc.) • College education in early childhood development
preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Suite software.

Home Visitor Part-time – Truckee

Pay: $23.00/Hr.
Hours: Part time – 24 Hours per week
Position: Home Visitor – Truckee, possible occasional work in Nevada City
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other related Social Service field from an accredited college or university. Experience working directly with clients in a community-based and service organization is preferred. Experience in working with or providing services to children and families an ability to establish trusting relationships acceptance of individual differences experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families knowledge of infant and child development willing to engage in building reflective capacity (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing the value of supervision, etc.)
Duties: Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Home Visitor (HV) conducts outreach in the assigned Truckee area. Carries a caseload of participants enrolled in the Healthy Babies program via the California Home Visiting Program and conducts home visits and assessments with assigned families. The HV will provide families with parenting and development curriculum, parent/child activities, provide child development support, identify strengths, assist parents to develop a strong parent/child bond, help parents to set and meet goals, and provide resources. This position also reserves a few hours in the schedule as needed for family assessment work.
$1,000 bonus after completion of probation for Bilingual in Spanish.
Bilingual speaker, fluent in English/Spanish is preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite software.
